2014 Open Championship — Round 2

By | July 18, 2014

It was an interesting first day.  Placid conditions yielded a lot of rounds in the 60s.  Rory posted 6-under, Italy is well represented atop the leaderboard and Tiger rebounded from a slow start to finish minus-3 on the day.  Day one performances were generally in-line with my expectations but when all was said and done, I posted a very pedestrian 2-2-0 record for a net profit of 0.21 units.  Rickie lipped out a birdie putt on 18 that would have turned a loss into a push and Matteo Manaserro was unstoppable today holing out from the fairway on 3 and making birdie on three of the last four holes to take down Mikko Ilonen (who shot a repsectable 2-under today).  Bad weather rolling in tonight and rain is expected until early afternoon tomorrow.  On to our action for Friday…

(1 unit each)

Weekley +120 over Willett

Jimenez -117 over Haas

Donaldson +113 over Simpson

Casey -114 over English

Woods +101 over Stenson

Spieth +131 over McIlroy

Best of luck.
