2015 Masters — Round 2

By | April 10, 2015

I’m rushing to get these out before lines start moving against us.  Round 1 was a good start.  We finished the day 4-2-1 and up 2.8 units.  The course was yielding today.  Soft conditions began to dry out in the afternoon as the wind picked up but there were no real surprises in conditioning.

Rory was all over the place, Tiger made back-to-back (just plain sick) up and downs on 11 and 12 but shot 73 and Jordan Spieth pissed on the field as he threatened to set a new single round scoring record for majors.  What did we learn?  Nothing new but today was a good reminder that you have to score on the par fives to compete at Augusta.

Round 2 action looks a lot like round 1 action plus a few regression plays.  There are a few tempting prices but I don’t see the value.  Stenson +162 over Spieth sounds like a chance to play a regression to the mean on Spieth but Stenson looked like a walking coma today.  (Somebody might be going a little too heavy on the flu meds.)  Koepka +158 was equally intriguing until I took a closer look at his score card.  Volatile doesn’t begin to describe what’s going on in that game.  That brings us back to (1 unit each):

Ogilvy +127 over Wiesberger

Z Johnson +110 over Furyk

Woods +137 over Walker

B Watson -118 over Rose

Casey +109 over Matsuyama

Snedeker -118 over Holmes

I’ll keep an eye on the lines.  If anything else appears, I’ll post a supplement.

Pins are moving to different spots tomorrow.  Keep it below the hole and stay away from those false edges boys…

Best of luck,
