2015 PGA Championship

By | August 12, 2015

Last major of the year and as usual, we have a ton of story lines.  Rory’s return, DJ’s chance for redemption, endless blather about Pete Dye.  Peel back all the noise, and what do we have?  A strong field and a course many of the players have seen before.  Advantage to bombers and strong wind players.  Good putters don’t benefit as much.  Local knowledge is helpful but not critical.  After all, it’s a Pete Dye course — that means few decisions and little thinking.  Hit it where Pete tells you to and you’ll be fine.  Score on the par fives, don’t do stupid things on the other holes and you’re in the hunt on Sunday.  Stay away from early McIlroy action — no idea what to expect when you apply that much torque to a damaged ankle….

Lots of chalk and little value in the props.  We’re going long:

Stenson +3,000 (1/4 unit)

Koepka +4,000 (1/4 unit)
