Rough week. It happens. When the public hits like that it is usually bad for us.

I am making some tweeks as I am seeing some similar patterns the last couple of years developing. Hopefully that changes things for the better.

I remember the days where the spread seemed to matter so much more. 7 pt favs winning by 3. 10 pt favs winning by 7. now it seems like whoever wins the game SU, covers the spread. either dogs winning outright or faves blowing out the dog. I think it is partly due to the shift in focus on calling defensive penalties and the further emphasis on the passing game. as the games become more wide open, with more passing, and more scoring, the margin of victory is widening. For example, look at the totals. There is hardly ever totals in the 30’s anymore. most games have posted totals of 47-49 pts and many games in the 50’s. you never used to see games with a 50 pt total. It’s virtually impossible to play defense anymore, and the teams with a top notch qb have a significant advantage. That being said, oddsmakers should have adjusted by now and lines should be inflated- well, one would think that would be the case.
